Alpalhão is a small village in the municipality of Nisa. This municipality in Alto Alentejo is situated on the plain between the São Mamede mountain range and the Tagus River, known for the benefits of its thermal waters, the quality of its traditional cheese, and the pottery and embroidered fabrics crafted by local artisans.

It was a village and municipal seat between 1512 and 1855.
